island6 六岛 is a Shanghai-based multidisciplinary art collective founded in 2006 by curators, performance- and multimedia artists, tech geeks and creative talents.

The collective produces animated LED objects and incorporates a variety of influences and styles from Chinese culture and history, such as papercuts, rice paper and Maoist and Communist imagery, into their works.

The collective's focus is on echoing scenes of old and new Chinese culture and in parts ironically questioning them.
